ISF Filing
The Importer Security Filing (ISF), also known as 10+2, is a US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulation requiring importers and vessel carriers to provide data electronically to CBP for in-bound ocean shipments.
Under ISF regulations, before merchandise arriving by vessel can be imported into the United States, the Importer, or their Customs Broker must electronically submit certain advance cargo information to CBP in the form of an Importer Security Filing.
Failure to file timely, accurate and complete data can result in liquidated damages ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 depending upon the infraction and the number of violations.
